Mark Potts, Acting Head of Operations West & Central
(Covering the Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, North Wales and Nottinghamshire areas)
I support our funeral homes in the North West and Nottingham areas, having been involved in funerals for the past 7 years. Previously I have held leadership roles supporting teams to deliver exceptional client service which I am passionate about.
I am very proud to work for Co-op Funeralcare, as our colleagues help and guide bereaved families through some of the most traumatic times they will ever experience in their lives. We do this by ensuring we listen to the needs of our clients and deliver their wishes as part of the funeral celebration.
I live in the North West with my wife and son, who takes up most of my time either playing football or answering the random questions of an 11 year old.
(Covering the Cumbria, Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Lincolnshire and Northumberland areas)
I look after our funeral teams in the north and east of England and have worked in Co-op businesses for almost all of my working life, the majority in Co-op Funeralcare. I live in Northumberland where in my spare time I enjoy walks with my Westie, Hamish.
I am extremely proud to work for Co-op Funeralcare and passionate about the work that we do. It is our great privilege to be able to help bereaved families throughout a difficult and emotional time. We do all we can to make sure that every funeral is a unique and fitting tribute to the life that the person lived.
I am so fortunate to work with a team of wonderful dedicated people who really care for the families we serve.
John Williamson, Head of Operations Scotland & Northern Ireland
(Covering the whole of Scotland and Northern Ireland)
I lead our funeral home teams in Scotland and Northern Ireland, having worked in the funeral profession for 30 years, starting as a Funeral Service Operative before training as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.
The funeral profession has provided me with the opportunity to build a really fulfilling career, which makes a real difference to people, at what is often a particularly difficult time.
I’m married and have two daughters and live with my family in Ayrshire. I relax by riding my motorbike, having passed my motorcycle test over 35 years ago.
(Covering the Norfolk, Suffolk, Berkshire, Essex, London, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex and Portsmouth areas)
I’m responsible for our funeral homes across the south east of England, where I also live with my wife and two daughters.
I’ve been with the Funeralcare team since 2016, having previously worked in large scale health and social care businesses, leading large teams of up to 10,000 people.
I’m passionate about ensuring exceptional client service is delivered and that colleague engagement is high, so I’m thrilled to now be working for Co-op Funeralcare who strive for these same core values as myself.
(Covering the Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, South Wales, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Southampton areas)
I lead our funeral homes in the south west of the UK. I’ve worked in the funeral industry for over 25 years now and am extremely passionate about the service we provide to our clients. However, my working career started on the shop floor of a leading high street retailer, learning directly from clients what great customer service meant to them.
My career has taken me across the length and breadth of UK. I've now spent more time living in England rather than Scotland where I was born, which has often meant relocating the family too, my wife Maureen, and our two now adult children, who have steadfastly supported me throughout.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family, doing some DIY jobs, pottering in the gardening, sport, music and architecture.
